Facility, Space And Units

  • What types of storage do you offer?

    We have many sizes, large and small, both climate controlled and non-climate controlled. Most climate controlled units are interior units, but we have some that are drive-up climate controlled. The drive-up climate controlled units have a garage style door and a automatic garage door opener. You have a remote keypad or garage door remote you can use to open the door.

    For parking, we have some covered parking and many uncovered parking spots for boats or RVs.

  • What size storage units do you have?

    Our storage sizes are measured in feet and range from 5x5 to 10x30.

    Our climate controlled storage interior units are: 5x10, 10x10,12x12, 12x15, 12x24

    Our climate controlled drive-up storage units with garage door opener are:10x15, with 10x20 units coming soon. Some of these units have a large steel rack in the back of the unit.

    Our non-climate controlled, drive-up storage units are: 5x10, 10x10, 10x15, 10x20, 10x30

    We also have covered and no-covered parking for boats and RVs.

  • What happens if I need more or less space after I move in?

    This is more common that your probably think! If this happens to you, simply contact the office so we can check availability of other sizes in the facility. If the size you want to change to is available, we will assist you in the transition.

  • Do you have climate-controlled units?

    Yes. Some climate control units are interior, and some are drive-up units with an automatic garage door opener. Climate-controlled units are definitely the way to go when you need to store electronics, photos, artwork, or other family goods that may be affected by extreme temperatures.

  • I need to access my storage unit at off times. When can I access my unit?

    You can always access your storage unit 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year. If you need additional assistance, feel free to contact us and we will be happy to help.

  • Do the storage units have electrical outlets?

    For safety reasons, we do not install electrical outlets in our storage units.

  • Do you offer RV/Boat/Vehicle parking?

    Yes. We do offer secure outdoor parking for your RV, Travel Trailer, Boat, Utility Trailer, or Vehicles.

  • What kind of security features do you offer at your storage properties?

    We're committed to keeping your belongings safe! In addition to passive security features like fences and well-lit areas, we have surveillance cameras and 24-Hour Gate Access to provide a secure, stress-free storage experience. Assigned key codes will only allow our storage unit tenants access to the facility.

  • What items are prohibited in a self storage unit?

    You may not store any items that are explosive, flammable, odorous, hazardous, corrosive or perishable. These items can include food, drinks, fireworks, propane tanks, chemicals, etc. If you think you have an item that is prohibited but are unsure, please contact the office for clarification.

  • Is there a place put trash at the facility?

    We do not have a trash dumpster. All trash must be take off the facility. Any trash left at the facility will incur a dump fee because we have to pay someone to pick up the trash.

  • What size storage unit should I get?

    As a guide, you can use the chart below to determine what is the best size storage unit for you.

    A 5x10 is like a walk-in closet. You can fit studio apt. or small bedroom furnishings, mattress set, dining room A 10x10 is like a small bedroom. You can fit 1-2 bedroom apt. furnishings, refrigerator, appliances, canoes, sofas A 10x15 is like a small office. You can fit 1-2 desks, cabinets, large printers, chairs, sofas A 10x20 is like a large bedroom. You can fit 1-2 bedroom home furnishings, refrigerator, appliances, canoes, sofas A 10x30 is about the size of large 1 car garage. You can fit 2-3 bedrooms of furniture appliances, good for business storage

Reserving A Unit And Moving In

  • How do I rent a storage unit?

    Renting a unit is simple. Either select and rent your unit online, or give us a call. Units are rented on a month-to-month basis and require no deposit. You can either pay online, over the phone, or in person. Auto=pay is required to be set up.

  • Do I have to sign a long-term storage contract?

    No! All self storage rentals are done on a month-to-month basis. You can even pay your monthly rent online. You can pay in advance to lock in your rate for a period of time.

  • Does the unit come with a lock?

    We do not provide locks. The Dollar Store next door has padlocks you can use. However, a disc lock is recommended for the highest level of security. A disc lock is also required if you are using Safestor to insure your property while in storage.   • It's time for me to move out. What do I need to do?

    We do not require advanced notice to vacate. However, there is no refund if you move out before the end of the month. Make sure everything has been moved out of your storage unit and the lock has been removed. Let us know what day and time you will move out. After removing all your belongings, take a picture of the empty unit and email it to oldjackstorage@gmail.com. Then call us to confirm the move out. Please do not leave any trash behind. There is a $200 dump fee if trash is left on the property.

Managing My Account

  • How do I change my information on my account?

    Please send an email or call us and we can update your information.

  • Can I set up automatic payments for my account?

    Yes. We can setup automatic payment using a credit card or directly from a bank account.

  • How do I pay my monthly rent?

    Payments can be made online. Click the Pay My Bill button on the home page. We accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover or American Express, or ACH bank transfer. We can not take cash. If you need to use cash, you can get a prepaid credit card at the Dollar Store next door and use that to pay online. Auto pay is required. We can take payments over the phone but there is a $5 admin fee to process phone payments.

  • What happens when my rent payment is late?

    Monthly rent is due on the first of each month.

    • After 7 days late, you will charged a $15 late fee and you will be locked out of your unit.
    • After 14 days late, you will be charged another $15 late fee.
    • After 30 days late, the auction of your unit will begin, and an auction fee will be added to your account.
    • You have up to last day of the auction to pay your account balance.
    • After 45 days, the auction will be competed and your unit will be emptied.

Protect My Belongings

  • Do I need self storage property protection?

    Property protection is highly recommended to protect the value of your belongings, though not required. We do offer a competitive property protection plan for your belongings, you can check with your home or renter's insurance provider to confirm if you have coverage for your property while in storage.

  • How much does self storage property protection cost?

    You can sign up for Safestor through our website filling our the move-in form. Prices for coverage vary. Typical cost is:

    • $8.95 per month - Up to $1,000 in personal property damage
    • $11.95 per month - Up to $5,000 in personal property damage
    • $21.95 per month - Up to $10,000 in personal property damage
    • Your insurance provider should also be able to provide options. It is possible that your homeowner's or renter's insurance policy already covers your belongings
  • How much property protection do I need?

    The amount of coverage you need depends on what you will be storing in the unit. One way to estimate the value of what you will be storing is the cost of replacing something if it becomes damaged.

  • How do I cancel the property protection policy?

    We are ready to assist you in any way, including cancelling your property protection policy (if it was purchased through us). If your insurance was through your personal insurance provider, please contact them directly.

  • How to Keep Mice and Bugs Out of a Storage Unit?
    • Pack items in plastic totes with airtight lids
    • Do not store food inside a storage unit
    • Keep items raised a couple of inches off the ground
    • Cover mattresses and upholstered furniture
    • Use natural pest deterrents
    • Use FRESH CAB Rodent Repellent. Order from Amazon
    • Put cedar blocks in a bowl on a shelf
    • Drop lavender or peppermint essential oils on cotton balls
    • Lavender Dryer sheets can be an effective way to repel mice due to their strong scents
